Thick essays5/30/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Given how researchers use this information to describe their qualitative research and analysis, a reader can easily get a clear picture of the lives of the respondents.īloom’s taxonomy is a term that appears quite frequently when researchers talk about thick description. The details are biographical, historical, interactional, situational, and relational. Often, thick description tends to capture five significant details about cultural and social relationships based on events, behavior, and observation. The approach takes in account emotion, voice, social relationship, details, feelings, actions, and context to interpret the significance of event, behavior, and observation. There’s more to thick description than just the surface appearance. Since it adds subjective information and meaning from people engaged in different behavior, the data collected through thick description tends to be of great value for students and social scientists. First introduced by Gilbert Ryle in the 20th-century and further developed by Clifford Geertz, thick description in qualitative research focuses on making explicit patterns of cultural and social relationships and giving detailed descriptions and interpretations of the observations made. ![]()

On a professional level, she had not stopped him from ‘suiciding’ the computer nerd who blew the gaff on the Service’s exemplary kidnapping of a Persian dissident on the streets of some provincial seaside resort in England. ![]() ![]() Maybe I’ve just read so many that all of Cassie’s tricks are starting to feel contrived. Maybe I’ve just outgrown the Shadowhunter books at this point. (Not to mention, Cassie never takes the trouble to distinguish the voice of each POV.) All the many POVs and subplots felt discordant. ![]() I was bored reading, because the plot was so painfully slow. Imagine the excitement as you are handed this delicious treat, and then when that pink fairy floss meets your tongue, your happiness melts away into nothing-nothing but insubstantial spun sugar. Imagine pausing by the fairy floss vendor, your eyes wide, watching as a wooden stick is swirled around and becomes a delicious pink fluffy delicacy before your very eyes. Imagine going to a carnival, walking through the magnificent sights and inhaling the smells of delicious food. I was so unbelievably, jumping-off-the-walls excited for Chain of Gold, but it was a huge and bitter disappointment. ![]() |
